Siri Basics
A popular question that comes up during the Lake Villa District Library events is ‘How do I use Siri?’. Which is then followed up by another question that comes up right afterward ‘What can Siri do?’. So this month I break them both down.
How do I use Siri?
To start Siri (no matter the device) you press and hold the home button on your iPhone, or iPad. At that point Siri is listening, you can now ask Siri something or tell Siri to do something…
You can also get Siri’s attention by saying “Hey Siri” when plugged into power. An iPhone 6s or new can have “Hey Siri” on all of the time. This of course leads right into the next question…
What can Siri do?
The simplest way to find out is to leave Siri open and she’ll give you some ideas. You can also just ask Siri, “What can you do?” to get a list of possible items Siri can accomplish:
